Lake Champlain Islands Economic Development Corporation
- The Lake Champlain Islands Economic Development Corporation (LCIEDC) is a 501(c)6 mutual benefit corporation. LCIEDC serves as Grand Isle’s Regional Development Corporation, one of twelve in Vermont tasked with providing a wide variety of resources to the citizens and businesses of Grand Isle County.
- Located in the beautiful Lake Champlain Islands, the Grand Isle Supervisory Union comprises five communities supporting over 950 students. Included are Alburgh Community Education Center, Grand Isle Elementary School, Isle La Motte School, North Hero Elementary School, and Folsom Education Center in South Hero. The GISU Schools specialize in educating grades K-6/K-8, while students in grades 9-12 have the choice of attending High Schools in neighboring counties.
Champlain Islanders Developing Essential Resources(CIDER)
- CIDER’s mission is to develop and foster resources that enable the people of Grand Isle County, Vermont to live in their community with dignity. CIDER accomplishes this by providing direct services and collaborating with other individuals and groups. CIDER feels a special responsibility to elders and persons with disabilities.

Alburgh
The Town of Alburgh is the gateway to Vermont from New York and Canada. Located on a peninsula, it has the highest amount of lakefront properties compared to the other Champlain Island towns. With its close proximity to New York, Canada, and St. Albans City, Alburgh is a favored place to reside.
Grand Isle
The Town of Grand Isle is located on the northern side of the Island it shares with South Hero, and is just 25 to 35 minutes to Burlington, Vermont. The city of Plattsburgh, New York is just a quick 15 minute commute by way of the Ferry located on Grand Isle’s West Shore.
Isle La Motte
The Town of Isle La Motte is the northernmost of the Champlain Island towns and embodies a quiet rustic lifestyle with astonishing views of Lake Champlain. From impressive homes nestled on the shores of Lake Champlain to quaint seasonal cottages, Isle La Motte has much to offer in terms of real estate and lifestyle.
North Hero
The Town of North Hero is centrally located in Grand Isle County. Known as the shire town, North Hero is a quiet community with a picturesque village directly on City Bay of Lake Champlain.
